May Motor Journal is published as always on the first Friday of the month (May 2, 2025).
Traditionally, the Miscellaneous News section mainly focuses on round May anniversaries with dates ending in five. We commemorate personalities - the first female driver Olga Prochasková, American constructor and racer John Walter Christie, motorcyclist Effie Hotchkiss, Arnošt Zemen, Vladimír Dubšík and others. We also commemorate races, car shows, news and new books. We do not forget about important events either. On Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025, in nice weather, we gathered to celebrate the first veteran ride in our territory - Rudolfinum 1960. Ariel Red Hunter were sports OHV single-cylinders. The most important export market for English Ariel motorcycles was the Kingdom of Italy from the late 1920s. Following behind were importers in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and also the Czechoslovak Republic. Before long he was racing a Bugatti Brescia. A few years later he was a driver for the official Maserati, Bugatti and Delahaye teams. Today we will look back for the last time, we are already preparing for the next trip. On Monday, March 24, the Osenat auction hall has prepared an auction in its beautiful premises Grand Garage Napoleon in Fontainebleau. Thrilling car races and lots of other fun – that's Member's Meeting, a gathering of members and associates of the Goodwood Road Racing Club. Unlike other events held at Goodwood, the members' gathering is an almost intimate affair.
