Traditionally, the Miscellaneous News section mainly focuses on round March anniversary with a date ending in a six. We commemorate personalities, races, car shows, news and new books.
After eighty years, the competition of elegance will return to Luhačovice, which was an important part of the summer program of Czechoslovak motorists, especially before World War II. One of the main organizers of the event is the well-known collector of vintage cars František Kudela.
Jim Clark He was a natural horseman, born once in a century. He was the antithesis of today's Formula One drivers. He had no manager, no PR team. He often signed contracts with Chapman with just a handshake. When he won a race, his first thought was not to celebrate in a nightclub, but to see if the sheep at Edington Mains were okay and if he would catch the plane home. According to his friends, he was always the calmest and most modest man in the paddock.
The peak of the spring motoring season has grown even more. Retromobile celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. It has become a global phenomenon. The public has realized this. A record 181,500 visitors arrived, 24,000 more than in 2025. The Czech Republic shone in the best light. It turned out that, without undue modesty, we are among the top collectors, renovators, and manufacturers of classic and new car brands.
The 125 is a vehicle somewhere between a bicycle and a motorcycle. Today, this category is quite popular thanks to the regulations on driver's license categories, but there were years when we did not know it at all in our country. The 125 was introduced to us by the Germans during the occupation. Let's take a look at the beginnings of this chapter of our motorcycle history. In the second part of this text, we will recall the fate of one such motorbikes, which was really lacking.
Auction organized during the Paris Rétromobile show showed that the European market for vintage cars is not as lively as across the Atlantic, where from January 6 to 18, the Mecum auction house sold over 4,000 vintage vehicles, 56 of which for more than a million dollars. However, the auction houses Artcurial, Bonhams, Gooding Christie's and RM Sotheby's offered a rich assortment of cars in Paris from which everyone could choose.
