Traditionally, in the section Miscellaneous news It is mainly dedicated to round July anniversaries with dates ending in a six. We commemorate personalities, races, car shows, news and new books.
Picturesque backdrops of Jurkovič's architecture, the omnipresent sound of swing melodies, ladies in period dresses, and above all dozens of automotive gems that have never been seen in such concentration in the Czech Republic before. On the weekend of June 6th and 7th, after almost a hundred years, the legendary competition of elegance of vintage vehicles returned in full splendor to the Moravian Lázeňské náměstí. Concours d'Elegance Luhačovice, which successfully continued its famous pre-war tradition founded by Tomáš Baťa and his Czechoslovak Automobile Club for Moravia and Silesia.
Race 1000 Czechoslovak miles has a wonderful tradition that is still alive. In recent years, it has developed into the most prestigious event in the Czech Republic as a historic vehicle ride.
There are people whose biography can be described by a few functions and dates. And then there are personalities whose footprint is much deeper. They do not only leave behind annual reports, economic results or management decisions. They leave behind factories, technical monuments, museums, rescued historical machines and, above all, ideas that inspire future generations. Paul Lazar, who celebrates his sixtieth birthday in July 2026, belongs to this second group.
The fifth year of the legendary historic car race has transformed everything Slovakia to a unique museum on wheels and charmed thousands of enthusiastic spectators from Zemplín to the Danube embankment.
