Product description
Another monograph by a renowned author is coming to bookshelves in the Retro edition. The bus icons Škoda 706 RO and Škoda 706 RTO still delight the eyes of not only the older but also the younger generation. The Škoda 706 RO bus was distinguished by its very progressive hoodless design for its time. It began to be mass-produced not long after the end of World War II: first at the Avia factory in Letňany in Prague, later also at the Sodomka body shop in Vysoké Mýto, which was renamed Karosa, a national enterprise after the so-called February 1948. The RTO bus was created in the mid-1950s at the Karosa company in Vysoké Mýto (today IVECO Czech Republic) and was equipped with an exceptionally successful timeless body. The book is equally devoted to both types, their individual designs and specials, which were produced from components of both the RO and RTO type series. A discussion of licensed products of both types, which were produced, for example, in Bulgaria or Poland, is also not left out.
