A comprehensive catalogue of the exhibition in the exhibition of the Technical Museum in Brno (25. 10. 2022 until 26.02. 2023). The title of the exhibition was chosen deliberately: it is a reminiscence of a text published in 1913 in the first issue of the magazine Auto, published by the Czech Motorists' Club. In it, the founder of the club, Karel Rosenberg, recalls the reasons leading to the establishment of the club. Among other things, the public's hostility towards motorists and their frequent harassment ("chikan") by state authorities. Motorists tried to unite together so that they could negotiate better. The title of the exhibition thus tries to bring closer the contemporary situation regarding the view of motoring. Among the touring series-produced cars, visitors will be thrilled by the Z 9 and Z 4-III series cars. They were followed by a factory-modified car intended for the 1000 Czechoslovak miles race, which is also presented in the exhibition. The exhibited cars, accompanied by many shots from motor racing competitions, are on the catalog pages.

On February 7, 2020, the book launch of the head of the State District Archive in Děčín, Jan Němec, Motorists on and under Šébr took place at the Technical Museum in Brno.
Pre-war Czechoslovakia had long underestimated the potential of motoring and left car and motorcycle owners to help themselves. In our over-motorized present, drivers would be surprised to find themselves having to procure road signs, pay for winter maintenance and constantly ask for improvements to roads that cost nothing. In order to be heard, drivers formed associations, of which there were around a hundred, which fought each other for members. The German car club "Nordböhmischer Kraftfahrerbund" in Rumburk managed to unite almost 2,000 motorists and its voice carried weight. It was one of the few to cooperate closely with the Car Club of the Czechoslovak Republic and for a long time put the interests of drivers above national and political interests. It organised popular races, published a magazine, gave lectures and fought tirelessly for domestic driving.
This is yet another masterpiece by an author known for his book, The Legendary Motorcycle of the Czech Republic. We recommend that anyone who is eager to buy the book, they will not regret it.

The third monograph in a series deals with Czech motoring and its development up to the times when it began to develop in our country. This volume focuses on motoring associations in the Czech lands and how they integrated into the everyday life of motorcyclists and car drivers and how they advocated for their rights and at the same time took care of their comfort. If the 19th century is called the century of steam, the 20th century must be called the century of gasoline. Cyclists, and after them motorcyclists and car drivers, freed themselves from the dictates of timetables and returned long-distance transport to the roads and highways, which, however, had in the meantime been usurped by the rural population. As soon as cyclists were accepted, motorists appeared on noisy machines that unnerved farm animals, especially horses. The increasing attacks on individualistic travelers led motorists, at first especially car drivers, to establish associations to amplify their voice in a society represented by monarchs on horseback. Even before motoring became a social phenomenon, members of car clubs fought for the smooth coexistence of motorists and drivers and against numerous restrictions from the authorities.

The Tatra 805 light truck was developed in the early 1950s – at a time when the whole of Europe was slowly recovering from the consequences of World War II.
